Article Citation - WoS: 4Citation - Scopus: 4An Analytical Solution for the Plane Wave Diffraction by a Resistive Half-Plane Residing at the Interface of Left and Right Handed Media(Elsevier Gmbh, 2019) Basdemir, Husnu DenizThe diffraction of waves by a resistive half-plane lying on the interface of left and right handed media is investigated in this study. Because of the anomalous refraction property of left handed media, shadow boundary shifts toward to the lower surface of the half-plane. In order to obtain the shifted boundary, diffracted waves are divided to subfields. Thus, obtained diffracted waves compensates the deficiency of geometries optics fields at the transition regions. The uniform version of waves is obtained by using the uniform theory of diffraction. The wave behaviors are examined numerically.Article Citation - WoS: 5Citation - Scopus: 5Bessel Beam Diffraction by an Aperture in an Opaque Screen(Hindawi Ltd, 2015) Basdemir, Husnu DenizThe scattering of the Bessel beam by a circular aperture in an opaque screen is investigated by the geometrical theory of diffraction approach. The diffracted field expressions are constructed by using the relation between scattered geometrical optics fields and the transition boundaries. The high frequency asymptotic expressions of diffracted fields reach infinite magnitude values at the transition boundaries. The uniform expressions of fields are obtained by using the uniform theory of diffraction method in order to obtain the finite magnitude values at the transition boundaries and the results are analyzed numerically for different set of parameters.Article Citation - WoS: 6Citation - Scopus: 6Directive Line Source Scattering by a Half-Plane Between Two Isorefractive Media(Elsevier Gmbh, Urban & Fischer verlag, 2017) Basdemir, Husnu DenizA perfectly conducting half-plane which is lying at the interface between two isorefractive media is investigated for a directive line source illumination. For this purpose, a directive line source is defined by passing a plane-wave from an aperture. Also, more suitable function than the Fresnel function is defined for cylindrical sources. The scattered field and its subfields are obtained by a new method. Consequently, all the mentioned fields are analyzed numerically. (C) 2016 Elsevier GmbH. This method is applied to the half-plane with soft boundary condition. The fields are examined numerically. Thus, numerical analysis showed that the proposed method is suitable for these kinds of problems.Article Citation - WoS: 6Citation - Scopus: 7Modeling of an Interface Between Isorefractive Media by a Resistive Surface(Optical Soc Amer, 2018) Basdemir, Husnu DenizIn this study, the scattering of plane waves by a half-plane with different face impedances, which lie between isorefractive media, is analyzed. A new approach for the solution of this scenario is proposed. According to this proposal, the problem of isorefractive media and an impedance half-plane is modeled by a junction of resistive and impedance sheets. Thus the diffraction coefficient of the construction is obtained with the aid of the equivalent problem. The uniform expression of the diffracted waves is derived by the method of the uniform theory of diffraction. The scattered and diffracted waves are investigated numerically. The coefficient of the PO scattering integral was derived for the first time for the resistive half-plane. Uniform fringe field expressions were obtained in terms of the Fresnel functions. The resultant expressions of the fringe fields were plotted and analyzed numerically.Editorial Citation - WoS: 3Citation - Scopus: 2Reply To the "comments on 'fringe Waves in an Impedance Half-Plane(E M W Publishing, 2014) Basdemir, Husnu DenizConference Object Review on the Modified Theory of Physical Optics(Ieee, 2018) Basdemir, Husnu Deniz; Basdemir, Husnu DenizIn this review, modified theory of physical optics approach to the diffraction problem is revisited. The diffracted fields are determined by dividing the diffraction coefficient to four subfields for satisfying the boundary conditions. It is observed that the shadow boundary shifts towards to lower surface of the half-plane. Also geometric optics fields are determined by using the geometry of the problem. As a result, the behavior of the fields is investigated numerically.Article Citation - WoS: 1Citation - Scopus: 1Scattering of Plane-Waves by an Impedance Half-Plane at the Interface Between Isorefractive Media(Taylor and Francis Ltd., 2018) Basdemir, Husnu DenizThe scattering of plane waves by an impedance half-plane located at the interface of two isorefractive media is investigated. Both the microstrip feed line and coaxial feed techniques are used to feed the antenna. The best feed point location for both techniques is found to achieve the highest performance. The High Frequency Structural Simulator (HFSS 12.0) is used to simulate the antenna and find out the characteristics. The antenna performance characteristics such as VSWR, return loss, radiation pattern are obtained.
