Article Citation - WoS: 19Citation - Scopus: 23The (2+1)-Dimensional Hyperbolic Nonlinear Schrodinger Equation and Its Optical Solitons(Amer inst Mathematical Sciences-aims, 2021) Hosseini, Kamyar; Salahshour, Soheil; Sadri, Khadijeh; Mirzazadeh, Mohammad; Park, Choonkil; Ahmadian, Ali; Baleanu, UmitruA comprehensive study on the (2+1)-dimensional hyperbolic nonlinear Schrodinger (2D-HNLS) equation describing the propagation of electromagnetic fields in self-focusing and normally dispersive planar wave guides in optics is conducted in the current paper. To this end, after reducing the 2D-HNLS equation to a one-dimensional nonlinear ordinary differential (1D-NLOD) equation in the real regime using a traveling wave transformation, its optical solitons are formally obtained through a group of well-established methods such as the exponential and Kudryashov methods. Some graphical representations regarding optical solitons that are categorized as bright and dark solitons are considered to clarify the dynamics of the obtained solutions. It is noted that some of optical solitons retrieved in the current study are new and have been not retrieved previously.Article A Class of Time-Fractional Dirac Type Operators(Pergamon-Elsevier Science Ltd, 2021) Baleanu, Dumitru; Restrepo, Joel E.; Suragan, DurvudkhanBy using a Witt basis, a new class of time-fractional Dirac type operators with time-variable coefficients is introduced. These operators lead to considering a wide range of fractional Cauchy problems. Solutions of the considered general fractional Cauchy problems are given explicitly. The representations of the solutions can be used efficiently for analytic and computational purposes. We apply the obtained representation of a solution to recover a variable coefficient solution of an inverse fractional Cauchy problem. Some concrete examples are given to show the diversity of the obtained results. (c) 2020 Elsevier Ltd. Passive design strategies offer a promising solution to enhance building thermal resilience; however, little is known about their actual application and effectiveness in low-income households under different climate conditions. This paper presents a scoping literature review of 123 articles that evaluated passive design strategies applied to low-income housing contexts. The detailed article review shows that wall-and roof-related passive design strategies (e.g., insulation, sealing) are the most frequently studied and effective strategies, increasing comfort hours and energy savings with a wide variation of up to 24 % and 67 %, respectively. Combined strategies often outperformed individual strategies. In contrast, some studies reported unintended consequences following the adoption of passive design strategies, such as increases in energy demand reaching as high as 50 %. Such findings shed light on the need for design processes to consider multiple performance metrics, as well as behavioural and socio-economic factors that require more in-depth investigation, such as energy poverty and rebound effects. Detailed recommendations are finally provided to guide future research and applications on the topic, covering the need to (i) explore and combine underrepresented thermal resilience strategies and metrics, (ii) follow more standardized reporting practices, (iii) quantify costs and identify implementation barriers, and (iv) integrate participatory research methods to support technical assessments with contextual knowledge of the studied low-income households and communities.Article Citation - WoS: 64Citation - Scopus: 70About Fractional Quantization and Fractional Variational Principles(Elsevier, 2009) Baleanu, Dumitruin this paper, a new method of finding the fractional Euler-Lagrange equations within Caputo derivative is proposed by making use of the fractional generalization of the classical Fad di Bruno formula. M.; Ebaid, Abdelhalim; Baleanu, Dumitru; Machado, Jose Tenreiro; Hamed, Y. S.; El-Zahar, Essam R.This paper presents an absolutely stable noniterative difference scheme for solving a general class of singular perturbation problems having left, right, internal, or twin boundary layers. The original two-point second-order singular perturbation problem is approximated by a first-order delay differential equation with a variable deviating argument. This delay differential equation is transformed into a three-term difference equation that can be solved using the Thomas algorithm. The uniqueness and stability analysis are discussed, showing that the method is absolutely stable. An optimal estimate for the deviating argument is obtained to take advantage of the second-order accuracy of the central finite difference method in addition to the absolute stability property. Several problems having left, right, interior, or twin boundary layers are considered to validate and illustrate the method. The numerical results confirm that the deviating argument can stabilize the unstable discretized differential equation and that the new approach is effective in solving the considered class of singular perturbation problems.Article Citation - WoS: 1Citation - Scopus: 2Abstract Random Differential Equations With State-Dependent Delay Using Measures of Noncompactness(Vilnius Univ, inst Mathematics & informatics, 2024) Heris, Amel; Bouteffal, Zohra; Salim, Abdelkrim; Benchohra, Mouffak; Karapinar, ErdalThis paper is devoted to the existence of random mild solutions for a general class of second-order abstract random differential equations with state-dependent delay. The technique used is a generalization of the classical Darbo fixed point theorem for Frechet spaces associated with the concept of measures of noncompactness. An application related to partial random differential equations with state-dependent delay is presented.Article Citation - WoS: 12Citation - Scopus: 17Abstraction-Based Verification of Codiagnosability for Discrete Event Systems(Pergamon-elsevier Science Ltd, 2010) Schmidt, K.In this paper, we investigate the verification of codiagnosability for discrete event systems (DES). That is, it is desired to ascertain if the occurrence of system faults can be detected based on the information of multiple local sites that partially observe the overall DES. As an improvement of existing codiagnosability tests that resort to the original DES with a potentially computationally infeasible state space, we propose a method that employs an abstracted system model on a smaller state space for the codiagnosability verification. Furthermore, we show that this abstraction can be computed without explicitly evaluating the state space of the original model in the practical case where the DES is composed of multiple subsystems. A.; Baleanu, Dumitru; Khalil, E. M.; Bouslimi, Jamel; Omri, M.; Abdel-Aty, Abdel-HaleemThe dynamical attitude of the transmission for the nerve impulses of a nervous system, which is mathematically formulated by the Atangana-Baleanu (AB) time-fractional FitzHugh-Nagumo (FN) equation, is computationally and numerically investigated via two distinct schemes. These schemes are the improved Riccati expansion method and B-spline schemes. Additionally, the stability behavior of the analytical evaluated solutions is illustrated based on the characteristics of the Hamiltonian to explain the applicability of them in the model's applications. Also, the physical and dynamical behaviors of the gained solutions are clarified by sketching them in three different types of plots. The practical side and power of applied methods are shown to explain their ability to use on many other nonlinear evaluation equations.Article Citation - WoS: 23Citation - Scopus: 23Abundant Optical Solitons To the (2+1)-Dimensional Kundu-Mukherjee Equation in Fiber Communication Systems(Springer, 2023) Baleanu, Dumitru; Ghanbari, BehzadThe Kundu-Mukherjee-Naskar equation holds significant relevance as a nonlinear model for investigating intricate wave phenomena in fluid and optical systems. This study uncovers new optical soliton solutions for the KMN equation by employing analytical techniques that utilize combined elliptic Jacobian functions. The solutions exhibit mixtures of distinct Jacobian elliptic functions, offering novel insights not explored in prior KMN equation research. Visual representations in the form of 2D ContourPlots elucidate the physical behaviors and properties of these newly discovered solution forms. The utilization of symbolic computations facilitated the analytical derivation of these solutions, offering a deeper understanding of the nonlinear wave dynamics governed by the KMN equation. These employed techniques showcase the potential for future analytical advancements in unraveling the complex soliton landscape of the multifaceted KMN model. The findings provide valuable insights into the intricacies of soliton behavior within this nonlinear system, offering new perspectives for analysis and exploration in areas such as fiber optic communications, ocean waves, and fluid mechanics. Maple symbolic packages have enabled us to derive analytical results.Article Citation - WoS: 36Citation - Scopus: 40Abundant Periodic Wave Solutions for Fifth-Order Sawada-Kotera Equations(Elsevier, 2020) Awan, Aziz Ullah; Osman, Mohamed S.; Baleanu, Dumitru; Alqurashi, Maysaa M.; Tahir, MuhammadIn this manuscript, two nonlinear fifth-order partial differential equations, namely, the bidirectional and 2D-Sawada-Kotera equations are analytically treated using an extended form of homoclinic process. O.; Farooqi, AsmaThe present work deals with the construction, development, and analysis of a viable normalized predictor-corrector-type nonstandard finite difference scheme for the SEIR model concerning the transmission dynamics of measles. The proposed numerical scheme double refines the solution and gives realistic results even for large step sizes, thus making it economical when integrating over long time periods. Moreover, it is dynamically consistent with a continuous system and unconditionally convergent and preserves the positive behavior of the state variables involved in the system. Simulations are performed to guarantee the results, and its effectiveness is compared with well-known numerical methods such as Runge-Kutta (RK) and Euler method of a predictor-corrector type.Article Citation - WoS: 17Citation - Scopus: 19Achieving More Precise Bounds Based on Double and Triple Integral as Proposed by Generalized Proportional Fractional Operators in the Hilfer Sense(World Scientific Publ Co Pte Ltd, 2021) Rashid, Saima; Karaca, Yeliz; Hammouch, Zakia; Baleanu, Dumitru; Chu, Yu-Ming; Al-Qurashi, MaysaaA user-friendly approach depending on nonlocal kernel has been constituted in this study to model nonlocal behaviors of fractional differential and difference equations, which is known as a generalized proportional fractional operator in the Hilfer sense. It is deemed, for differentiable functions, by a fractional integral operator applied to the derivative of a function having an exponential function in the kernel. This operator generalizes a novel version of Cebysev-type inequality in two and three variables sense and furthers the result of existing literature as a particular case of the Cebysev inequality is discussed. Some novel special cases are also apprehended and compared with existing results. The outcome obtained by this study is very broad in nature and fits in terms of yielding an enormous number of relating results simply by practicing the proportionality indices included therein. Furthermore, the outcome of our study demonstrates that the proposed plans are of significant importance and computationally appealing to deal with comparable sorts of differential equations. Taken together, the results can serve as efficient and robust means for the purpose of investigating specific classes of integrodifferential equations.Article Citation - WoS: 5Citation - Scopus: 6Adaptive Modeling of Landslide Susceptibility Using Analytical Hierarchy Process and Multi-Objective Decision Optimization(Elsevier Sci Ltd, 2025) Mao, Yimin; Zhu, Licai; Chen, Junde; Nanehkaran, Yaser A.This study develops a detailed landslide susceptibility map for Kermanshah province, Iran, by analyzing field surveys, historical data, and remote sensing. Fifteen key factors-such as geomorphology, geology, climate, seismicity, and human activities-were identified and ranked using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Multi-Objective Decision Optimization (MODO) within a GIS framework. The analysis classifies landslide risk into five categories: very high (18.4%), high (33.98%), moderate (24.19%), low (14.36%), and very low (9.07%). Pixel rate assessment confirmed the map's accuracy, showing that eastern and northeastern regions are particularly prone to landslides, with a substantial portion of the province at moderate to high risk. The study recommends using this map to guide targeted risk mitigation and land-use planning efforts to reduce landslide impacts on vulnerable areas. (c) 2024 COSPAR. Published by Elsevier B.V. In this paper, we evaluated alterations of heart activity from the complexity point of view. We analyzed the variations of heart rate of patients with congestive heart failure that are categorized into four different age groups, namely 30-39, 50-59, 60-69, and 70-79 years old. For this purpose, we employed three complexity measures that include fractal dimension, sample entropy, and approximate entropy. The results showed that the trend of increment of subjects' age is reflected in the trend of increment of the complexity of heart rate variability (HRV) since the values of fractal dimension, approximate entropy, and sample entropy increase as subjects get older. The analysis of the complexity of other physiological signals can be further considered to investigate the variations of activity of other organs due to aging.Article Citation - WoS: 10Citation - Scopus: 10Aggregation Operators for Interval-Valued Pythagorean Fuzzy Hypersoft Set With Their Application To Solve Mcdm Problem(Tech Science Press, 2023) Siddique, Imran; Ali, Rifaqat; Jarad, Fahd; Iampan, Aiyared; Zulqarnain, Rana MuhammadExperts use Pythagorean fuzzy hypersoft sets (PFHSS) in their investigations to resolve the indeterminate and imprecise information in the decision-making process. Aggregation operators (AOs) perform a leading role in perceptivity among two circulations of prospect and pull out concerns from that perception. In this paper, we extend the concept of PFHSS to interval-valued PFHSS (IVPFHSS), which is the generalized form of interval -valued intuitionistic fuzzy soft set. The IVPFHSS competently deals with uncertain and ambagious information compared to the existing interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy soft set. It is the most potent method for amplifying fuzzy data in the decision-making (DM) practice. Some operational laws for IVPFHSS have been proposed. Based on offered operational laws, two inventive AOs have been established: interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy hypersoft weighted average (IVPFHSWA) and interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy hypersoft weighted geometric (IVPFHSWG) operators with their essential properties. Multi-criteria group decision-making (MCGDM) shows an active part in contracts with the difficulties in industrial enterprise for material selection. But, the prevalent MCGDM approaches consistently carry irreconcilable consequences. Based on the anticipated AOs, a robust MCGDM technique is deliberate for material selection in industrial enterprises to accommodate this shortcoming. A real-world application of the projected MCGDM method for material selection (MS) of cryogenic storing vessels is presented. The impacts show that the intended model is more effective and reliable in handling imprecise data based on IVPFHSS.Article Citation - WoS: 32Citation - Scopus: 37Aggregation Operators for Interval-Valued Pythagorean Fuzzy Soft Set With Their Application To Solve Multi-Attribute Group Decision Making Problem(Tech Science Press, 2022) Zulqarnain, Rana Muhammad; Siddique, Imran; Iampan, Aiyared; Baleanu, DumitruInterval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy soft set (IVPFSS) is a generalization of the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy soft set (IVIFSS) and interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy set (IVPFS). The IVPFSS handled more uncertainty comparative to IVIFSS; it is the most significant technique for explaining fuzzy information in the decision-making process. In this work, some novel operational laws for IVPFSS have been proposed. Based on presented operational laws, two innovative aggregation operators (AOs) have been developed such as interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy soft weighted average (IVPFSWA) and interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy soft weighted geometric (IVPFSWG) operators with their fundamental properties. A multi-attribute group decision-making (MAGDM) approach has been established utilizing our developed operators. A numerical example has been presented to ensure the validity of the proposed MAGDM technique. Finally, comparative studies have been given between the proposed approach and some existing studies. The obtained results through comparative studies show that the proposed technique is more credible and reliable than existing approaches.
