Article Citation - WoS: 1Citation - Scopus: 2Physical Optics Approach To Wave Diffraction by a Perfect Electromagnetic Conductor Half-Plane(Springer, 2021) Umul, Yusuf ZiyaThe scattering of electromagnetic plane waves by a perfect electromagnetic conductor is investigated. The method of physical optics is used for the analysis of the problem. The reflected fields by a whole-plane are taken into account. The surface electric and magnetic current densities are constructed with the aid of the incident wave and the reflected field from the whole-surface. The scattering integrals are obtained for the electric and magnetic vector potentials. The scattered electric and magnetic fields are expressed in terms of the vector potentials. The scattering integrals are evaluated asymptotically for large values of the wave-number. Some numerical results are given.Article Citation - WoS: 1Citation - Scopus: 2Modified Theory of Physical Optics Approach To Diffraction by an Interface Between Pemc and Absorbing Half-Planes(Lgep-supelec, 2021) Umul, Yusuf Z.The scattering of electromagnetic plane waves by an interface, located between perfect electromagnetic conductor and absorbing half-planes, is investigated. The perfect electromagnetic conductor half-plane is divided into perfect electric conductor and perfect magnetic conductor half-screens. The same decomposition is done for the absorbing surface. Then four different geometries are defined according to this approach. The scattered fields by the four sub-problems are obtained with the aid of the modified theory of physical optics. The resultant scattering integrals are combined in a single expression by using key formulas, defined for the perfect electromagnetic conductor and absorbing surfaces. The diffracted and geometric optics fields are obtained by the asymptotic evaluation of the scattering integral for large values of the wave-number. The behaviors of the derived field expressions are analyzed numerically.Article Citation - WoS: 2Citation - Scopus: 3Diffraction by an Interface Between Perfect Electromagnetic Conductor and Conductive Surfaces(Elsevier Gmbh, 2021) Umul, Yusuf ZiyaThe interaction of electromagnetic plane waves by a planar interface between conductive and perfect electromagnetic conductor half-planes is investigated. The method of transition boundary is used for the solution of the problem. The geometry, under consideration, is divided into two parts by using a relation, obtained for a perfect electromagnetic conductor half-plane. After obtaining the diffracted fields for sub-problems, they are combined into a single field for the coand cross-polarized waves. The behaviors of the total field and its components are analyzed numerically.Article Citation - WoS: 14Citation - Scopus: 15Scattering of Electromagnetic Waves by a Perfect Electromagnetic Conductor Half-Screen(Elsevier Gmbh, 2019) Umul, Yusuf ZiyaThe diffraction of plane electromagnetic waves by a perfect electromagnetic conductor half screen is investigated. The total geometrical optics fields are obtained by using the boundary conditions of a perfect electromagnetic conductor surface. A general relation is defined for the scattered fields in terms of waves by soft and hard surfaces. The total scattered field is derived by using this relation. Some numerical simulations are also given.Article Citation - WoS: 6Citation - Scopus: 7Diffraction by a Planar Junction Between Resistive and Perfect Electromagnetic Conductor Half-Screens(Elsevier Gmbh, 2019) Umul, Yusuf ZiyaThe interaction of plane electromagnetic waves by a planar junction between resistive and perfect electromagnetic conductor half-planes is investigated. First of all the initial waves for a whole resistive plane is evaluated. Then the scattered geometric optics fields are obtained from the difference of the total geometric optics and initial waves. The diffracted fields are evaluated with the aid of a relation between the scattered geometric optics and diffraction fields at the transition boundaries. It is found that the interaction between the two half-screens occur only for the z-polarized electric fields.Article Citation - WoS: 2Citation - Scopus: 2Wave Interaction With a Perfect Electromagnetic Conductor Half Plane Between Two Dissimilar Media(Elsevier Gmbh, 2019) Umul, Yusuf ZiyaThe interaction of electromagnetic plane wave by a perfect electromagnetic conductor half-plane, located between two media with different electromagnetic properties, is investigated. The diffracted waves, related with the z components of the electric and magnetic fields are obtained by considering the structures of the geometric optics fields, which are expressed in terms of the waves excited by soft and hard surfaces. The diffraction fields are extended in order to satisfy the boundary conditions on the interface between two media. Some numerical results are also given.Article Citation - WoS: 9Citation - Scopus: 11Wave Diffraction by a Perfect Electromagnetic Conductor Wedge(Elsevier Gmbh, 2019) Umul, Yusuf ZiyaThe scattering of plane electromagnetic waves by a perfect electromagnetic conductor wedge is investigated. The diffraction coefficient of the wedge is obtained by considering the structure of the scattered waves by a whole perfect electromagnetic conductor plane and the diffraction coefficients of the soft and hard wedges. The behavior of the total, total geometric optics and uniform diffracted waves are analyzed numerically.
