Article Citation - WoS: 21Citation - Scopus: 24A New Extension of Hesitant Fuzzy Set: an Application To an Offshore Wind Turbine Technology Selection Process(inst Engineering Technology-iet, 2021) Ramya, Lakshmanaraj; Kang, Daekook; Baleanu, Dumitru; Kureethara, Joseph Varghese; Annapoorani, Veerappan; Narayanamoorthy, SamayanWind energy is an energy source that is naturally clean, safe and cheap. It comes from a variety of sources. The electric energy generated by a wind turbine manifests as kinetic energy throughout the earth. The energy received from the wind is clean and is permanently available and can be generated forever. Turbine characteristics also have an impact on wind energy production. The turbine properties within a wind farm are important in estimating the load on power generation and wind turbine energy. The amount of energy released is calculated according to the type of the turbine model applied. In many situations, the choices of turbine model can incur various vague and complicated hesitation situations. To manage this situation, a hesitant fuzzy set with the Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) is used. In the present research, the newly proposed Normal Wiggly Hesitant Fuzzy-Criteria Importance Through Intercriteria Correlation (NWHF-CRITIC) and Normal Wiggly Hesitant Fuzzy-Multi Attribute Utility Theory (NWHF-MAUT) methods were employed to rank turbine models based on quality, power level, voltage, and capacity. As part of this process, the NWHF method was utilized to extract and gather deeper information from the decision-makers.Editorial Citation - WoS: 2Citation - Scopus: 2Guest Editorial: Gamification and Persuasive Games for Software Engineering(inst Engineering Technology-iet, 2019) O'Connor, Rory V.; Colomo-Palacios, Ricardo; Clarke, Paul; Yilmaz, MuratArticle Citation - WoS: 5Citation - Scopus: 9Fast Decoding of Polar Codes Using Tree Structure(inst Engineering Technology-iet, 2019) Gazi, Orhan; Andi, Alia A.In this study, the authors first propose a tree structure for the successive cancelation (SC) decoding of polar codes. The proposed structure is easy to implement in hardware and suitable for parallel processing operations. Next, using the proposed tree structure, they propose a technique for the fast decoding of polar codes. With the proposed method, it is possible to decode all the information bits simultaneously at the same time, i.e. in parallel. Lastly, they introduce an improved version of the proposed high-speed decoding algorithm. The proposed high-speed decoding approach and its improved version are simulated on the computer environment and their bit error rate performances are compared to the performance of the classical SC method.Article Citation - WoS: 4Uniform Asymptotic Theory for the Edge Diffraction of Cylindrical Waves(inst Engineering Technology-iet, 2017) Umul, Yusuf ZiyaThe uniform asymptotic theory of diffraction is reintroduced in terms of the Fresnel cylinder function for the diffraction problems of cylindrical waves. The transition function of the above theory, which compensates the discontinuities of the diffracted wave, is constructed according to the new function. The scattering problem of waves by a resistive half-plane is studied by the aid of the improved method. The uniform wave expressions are compared with the ones, obtained by the Fresnel integral at the near and far fields of the edge.
