In this study, partial least squares (PLS), principal component regression (PCR) and classical least squares (CLS) based on multiwavelength HPLC data were refined as multivariate calibration techniques such as CPLS, CPCR, CCLS. The relation between multiwavelength peak area data (x-block) and concentration set (y-block) were used to obtain the chromatographic multivariate calibrations. Multiwavelength-chromatograms or multiwavelength peak area data were obtained by using photodiode array (PDA) detectors. Waters Symmetry (R) C18 Column 5 mu m 4.6 x 250 mm and a combination of 0.2 M acetate buffer (pH = 5), acetonitrile, methanol and bidistilled water (55:20:10 v/v) at the flow rate of 1.9 mL/min were used to obtain a good chromatographic separation between TAR and ALL in presence of sunset yellow (Internal Standard (IS)). These chromatographic multivariate techniques were validated by analyzing the different synthetic mixtures and by using standard addition technique. These methods were applied to the commercial soft drinking powder samples containing TAR and ALL. The results from these chromatographic multivariate techniques were compared with each other as well as obtained by alternative single HPLC method.Article Citation - WoS: 14Citation - Scopus: 23Continuous Wavelet Transform Applied To the Overlapping Absorption Signals and Their Ratio Signals for the Quantitative Resolution of Mixture of Oxfendazole and Oxyclozanide in Bolus(Food & Drug Adminstration, 2007) Dinc, Erdal; Baleanu, Dumitru; Baleanu, Dumitru; MatematikContinuous wavelet transform (CWT) was applied to the overlapping absorption signals and their ratio signals for the quantitative resolution of mixture of oxfendazole (OXF) and oxyclozanide (OXY) in bolus without using any pre-chemical treatment. Mexican hat function (MEXH) and Morlet (MORL) continuous wavelet transforms (MEXH-CWT and MORL-CWT) for signal treatments were found to be suitable among the wavelet families. In the first step MEXH-CWT together with zero crossing technique is directly applied to the overlapping absorption spectra of OXF and OXY drugs and their calibration graphs were obtained by measuring the MEXH-CWT amplitudes at 328.7 nm for OXY and at 309.3 nm for OXF in the wavelet domain of 255-365 nm. In the second step MORL-CWT is used for finding the significant peak resolution of the ratio spectra of OXY and OXF respectively. The maxima and minima of CWT amplitudes and peak-to-peak and zero-crossing techniques were used for the calibration graphs. The method performances of CWT-zero crossing and ratio spectra-CWT techniques were validated by analyzing the synthetic mixtures and by applying the standard addition technique, and successfully accuracy, precision and reproducibility results were reported.Article Citation - WoS: 3Alternative Approaches To the Spectral Quantitative Resolution of Two-Component Mixture by Wavelet Families(Soc Chilena Quimica, 2009) Dinc, Erdal; Baleanu, Dumitru; Arslan, Fahrettin; Baleanu, Dumitru; MatematikA new spectral continuous wavelet transform (CWT) methods are proposed for the quantitative analysis of the binary mixtures. The simultaneous spectral resolution of binary mixtures and tablets containing paracetamol (PAR) and chloroxozone (CHL) with overlapping absorption spectra is performed by six wavelet families with no chemical separation procedure. The calibration graphs for the six wavelet families are obtained by the help of the data collected from the CWT-signal amplitudes corresponding to the zero crossing points in the spectral range of 210 nm-310 nm. The validation of each wavelet family is carried out by analyzing various synthetic binary mixtures of the above mentioned drugs. A.; Machado, J. A. TenreiroThis study describes the change of the ultraviolet spectral bands starting from 0.1 to 5.0 nm slit width in the spectral range of 200-400 nm. The analysis of the spectral bands is carried out by using the multidimensional scaling (MDS) approach to reach the latent spectral background. This approach indicates that 0.1 nm slit width gives higher-order noise together with better spectral details. Thus, 5.0 nm slit width possesses the higher peak amplitude and lower-order noise together with poor spectral details. In the above-mentioned conditions, the main problem is to find the relationship between the spectral band properties and the slit width. For this aim, the MDS tool is to used recognize the hidden information of the ultraviolet spectra of sildenafil citrate by using a Shimadzu UV-VIS 2550, which is in the world the best double monochromator instrument. Tenreiro; Baleanu, Dumitru; Dinc, ErdalIn this paper, the fractional Fourier transform (FrFT) is applied to the spectral bands of two component mixture containing oxfendazole and oxyclozanide to provide the multicomponent quantitative prediction of the related substances. With this aim in mind, the modulus of FrFT spectral bands are processed by the continuous Mexican Hat family of wavelets, being denoted by MEXH-CWT-MOFrFT. Four modulus sets are obtained for the parameter of the FrFT going from 0.6 up to 0.9 in order to compare their effects upon the spectral and quantitative resolutions. Four linear regression plots for each substance were obtained by measuring the MEXH-CWT-MOFrFT amplitudes in the application of the MEXH family to the modulus of the FrFT. Both NB and NAB nanofilms were obtained by the electrochemical reduction of the diazonium tetrafluoroborate salts in acetonitrile using cyclic voltammetry (CV). The modified surfaces were denoted as GC-(NB)(n) and GC-(NAB)(n), respectively, where n indicates the number of CV cycles performed during modification. Reflective IR signals of the normalized NB and NAB nanofilms and GC were used for the quantitative evaluation of the effect of the potential cycles on the reflective IR signals of nitro-groups in nanofilms. The detection and quantitative 'reading' of the influence of number of CV cycles were realized in the frame of a new error controllable approach that was applied for analysis of all available set of data. This approach includes in itself the following basic steps: (a) the procedure of the division (normalization) on the GC spectra, (b) the comparison of the smoothed spectra for their statistical proximity in the frame of the statistics of the fractional moments, (c) extraction of possible calibration parameters for possible calibration of the normalized spectra with respect to the number of CV cycles. These three basic steps are becoming effective for detection of the influence of some external factors. Therefore, a combination of pyridoxine hydrochloride and isoniazid is used in pharmaceutical dosage form in tuberculosis treatment to reduce this side effect. In this study, two chemometric methods, partial least squares (PLS) and principal component regression (PCR), were applied to the simultaneous determination of pyridoxine (PYR) and isoniazid (ISO) in their tablets. A concentration training set comprising binary mixtures of PYR and ISO consisting of 20 different combinations were randomly prepared in 0.1 M HCl. Both multivariate calibration models were constructed using the relationships between the concentration data set (concentration data matrix) and absorbance data matrix in the spectral region 200-330 nm. The accuracy and the precision of the proposed chemometric methods were validated by analyzing synthetic mixtures containing the investigated drugs. The recovery results obtained by applying PCR and PLS calibrations to the artificial mixtures were found between 100.0 and 100.7%. Satisfactory results obtained by applying the PLS and PCR methods to both artificial and commercial samples were obtained. The results obtained in this manuscript strongly encourage us to use them for the quality control and the routine analysis of the marketing tablets containing PYR and ISO drugs. A calibration set consisting of 22 mixture solutions was prepared by means of an orthogonal experimental design and their absorption spectra were recorded in the spectral range of 210.0-312.3 nm and then transferred into the fractional wavelet domain and processed by FWT. The chemometric calibrations FWT-PCR, FWT-PLS and FWT-ANN were computed by using the relationship between the coefficients provided by FWT method and the concentration data from calibration set. An external validation was carried out by applying the developed methods to the analysis of synthetic mixtures of the related compounds, obtaining successful results. The developed two spectrophotometric resolutions are based on the transformation of the original UV spectra. The original absorption spectra of levodopa and benserazide in the concentration range of 1-80 mu g/mL and 5-240 mu g/mL in USP simulated gastric juice were registered in the spectral range of 250-310 nm, respectively. Various wavelet families and different spectrophotometric derivative orders were tested to find the optimal signal processing for obtaining desirable calibration graphs and reliable determinations of the investigated drugs. Under the optimized conditions of the methods, symlets wavelet family using a = 128 with sixth order (SYM6-CWT) and the first derivative transform with Delta lambda = 10 nm were identified as optimal signal processing methods for the determinations and dissolution tests. The calibration functions for each drug were obtained by measuring the values of the CWT and derivative amplitudes. The validation of the developed methods was confirmed by analyzing various synthetic mixtures of the investigated drugs. Mean recovery values were found between 99.1% and 104.7% for DS and 100% and 102.9% for CWT, respectively for determination of BEN and LEV in synthetic mixtures. Each developed approaches were successfully applied to the simultaneous determination and dissolution test of levodopa and benserazide in their commercial tablets and a good agreement was observed. In this study, fractional wavelet analysis of the composite signals of the components in a binary mixture was investigated. In the quantitative evaluation of hydrochlorothiazide and cilazapril, partial least squares calibration was applied to the fractional wavelet coefficients after optimization of the experimental conditions. The validation of the partial least squares approach was tested by analyzing various synthetic mixtures consisting of active compounds of interest. Hydrochlorothiazide and cilazapril in real samples were analyzed using partial least squares calibration based on the fractional wavelet coefficients without a prior chemical separation procedure. This combined method is a potential new chemometric approach and is suitable for quantitative analysis of the components in samples.
