Master Thesis Cloud computing impact on communication and service sector: Iraq case study(Çankaya Üniversitesi, 2018) Almafrchi, Sabah Salam HusseinRapid advancements in technology have enhanced the significance of the use of cloud technology. The deployment of cloud computing as effective technology integration has been successful, particularly across the developed states of the world. However, there have been certain behavioural issues regarding the cloud technology activation in certain developing regions, rather than the technical limitations. In the context, the current research aims to evaluate the impact of deployment of cloud computing on the communication and service sector of Iraq. Even though the cloud computing approach seems appealing, yet certain challenges of adverse extent are encountered across the states where internet penetration and technology acceptance is not considerable. Similar is the case with Iraq; hence, the researcher has targeted the communication and service sector of Iraq with respect to assessing the deployment of cloud computing. In this regard, the constructs of UTAUT model as identified dependent and independent variables of the study have been employed, in terms of conducting a multiple-item 5-point scale online survey across 251 IT experts of the targeted domain. Resultantly, it has been established that there have been certain challenges of disregarding cloud computing as an effective measure of enhancing productivity, and efficiency of the employees in a secure and feasible manner. Therefore, the study has recommended training and awareness programs that must present the credibility and integrity of cloud computing as an effective technological deployment. These programs assist accepting the cloud computing technology by the employees in the communication sector, which enables the employees, as well as the organizations, providing more efficient tasks by reducing the costs and efforts needed to perform the exact same tasks without the use of cloud computing technologies. This improvement also assists other employees and organization to accept that technology, which eventually leads to more and more acceptance to the cloud computing technology in the communication and service sector.Master Thesis Spectral analysis of ECG signals for pre-diagnosis of heart diseases(Çankaya Üniversitesi, 2018) Al-Jada, Omar Saad AbdulqaderIn this thesis we used the three cases for diagnosis of the heart attacks. The first case is healthy persons, second case is non healthy persons and the last one is unknown persons. For detection of them we used the correlation and auto correlation between the cases. For the simulation results we used the MATLAB programming languages. For diagnosis we used two statistical method. The first one is to take only one dice (assuming that this selected dice is a perfect representative of the remaining dice) and throw it many times (multiplying the time axis, to get time average). The second is to throw all dice or some of the dice at the same time (multiplying the event axis, to get ensemble average). The question is how many times should the experiment be repeated along time axis in the first case and how many dice thrown at a time in the second case so that we arrive at a result well approximated to the ones to get a result within 98 % confidence interval the minimum number that an experiment should be performedMaster Thesis Indoor positioning using wireless access signals(Çankaya Üniversitesi, 2018) Altınbaş, MerveIndoor positioning is one of the most popular topics searched in recent years, but it is not a precise and clear solution. This thesis study discusses different solutions for indoor positioning in abstract form and compares various methods. From these comparisons, Wi-Fi access points (APs) were determined to be the best method for indoor positioning. In the first phase, assuming that the locations of the APs are unknown, measurements are made at several points and information is taken, such as Wi-Fi AP signal level and mac-id. All information is saved into the database. With this information, the coordinates of the Wi-Fi APs are found using MATLAB programming language. The second phase finds the location of the person indoors using these coordinates. The aim of thesis is to achieve a position coordinate accuracy between 0 and 5 meters.Master Thesis Analysis and performance measurements of MIMO OFDM techniques for LTE(Çankaya Üniversitesi, 2018) İbişoğlu, İsmailNowadays, the demand towards mobile phones that require high data rates applications has rapidly increased. In mobile networks, the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) to meet the increasing demand developed long-term evolution (LTE) standard. Today, on February 28th, 2017[1], 790 operators have commercially launched LTE in 201 countries, according to data released this week by GSA (Global mobile Suppliers Association) in its latest update of the Evolution to LTE report. This study has analyzed LTE network structure which is based 3GPP standards, Version 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12, and defined LTE technology properties. Afterwards, information is offered about different methods for capacity and coverage area calculations. This study also tested whether Shannon Capacity Equality or using software (like ATOLL) tools are preferred by today operators on sample.Master Thesis A systematic review of gamification in the context of software development landscapes(Çankaya Üniversitesi, 2018) Olgun, SerhanThe software development process is a complex activity that has interrelating steps to produce software products. Human related social factors such as user motivation, engagement, communication and collaboration issues affect the activities performed by software development organizations. In fact, software engineering researchers seek better ways to overcome the human related issues so as to improve the quality in software development. Consequently, research has been conducted to introduce new methodologies, techniques and concepts. As such, gamification has been introduced as a novel technique to enhance the software development process and ultimately resolve some of the identified obstacles that are related to human factors. However, there is a bias to adopt the gamification into the software development process because there are still insufficient evidences about its positive outcomes. In this study, a systematic literature review was rigorously conducted to investigate the application and to reveal the benefits of gamification in the software development landscapes. This study contributes to the area of software engineering research by proposing a classification approach to categorize gamification studies in software development landscapes. The results of this research suggest that there has been a significant increase in empirical and theoretical studies that were recently published and many positive steps being taken towards better integration of gamification in software development organizations.Master Thesis Detection of brain tumor in magnetic resonance images(Çankaya Üniversitesi, 2018) Bufares, Anwar A.Brain tumor is one of the serious diseases that have caused death to many people in recent years. The complex structure of the brain and its main function associated with the central nervous system and its main role in controlling most of the functions of the body makes detection of tumor a challenging task. Many techniques have been presented in the medical field in order to detect brain tumor from MRI images. In this thesis, a system is designed to detect the tumor in brain Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) using a seed-based region growing algorithm (SBRG) in the segmentation process. Then after segmenting the region of interest (ROI) the texture features are extracted from the image and used to classify tumor and non-tumor tissues by the implementation of the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) classifier. The accuracy obtained by this system is 99.88%.Master Thesis PAPR reduction of OFDM system symbole via optimal rotation of information symbols(Çankaya Üniversitesi, 2018) Jassim, Alaa HusseinOrthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is an effective multicarrier transmission for wireless communication systems. The demand for high data rate for multimedia applications made OFDM widely used in wireless communication. The main drawback of OFDM communication systems is their high peak-to-average power ratios (PAPRs) which limit their use in practical applications. There are two well-known PAPR reduction techniques known in the literature, partial transmit sequence (PTS), and selective mapping which are closely related to each other. In this thesis work, we propose a new PAPR reduction approach. Our method is based on rotation of the information symbols before inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) operation. The selection of the information symbols is performed inspecting their combinations in OFDM symbols, and this is achieved detailing decimation in frequency IFFT algorithm, i.e., inspecting the combination of information symbols while performing decimation in frequency IFFT algorithm. The proposed reduction method has better performance than that of the PTS method, and has much less complexity when compared to that of the PTS technique.Master Thesis Effects on Turkish and Libyan kitchen design with reference to cultural food preparation habits(Çankaya Üniversitesi, 2017) Ammari, Abdulbaset Mohamed FarajThe kitchen has undergone a dramatic evolution of social change in human history, evolving from enclave to a symbol of isolation; from the original fireplace as the only space for living activity to the modern, rational kitchen where women were isolated. However, today's kitchens have evolved to fit the needs of each family member and thus include a variety of functions. However, today's kitchens have evolved to the point where they accommodate every family member and therefore include multiple functions. This thesis aims to understand the dynamics beneath the evolution of kitchen; referring to cultural in two different countries (Turkey, Libya), in order to find out the problems found in using the kitchens so that better designs may be suggested. The literature shows that a kitchen is an important part in a home, which is a busy area, thus demanding a lot of attention in order to be able to get the needed design requirements. While the findings of the thesis are based on the contemporary urban life, it is not known what the future will hold; so suggestions are made to benefit contemporary needs. The case is the interaction between the household, the kitchen design, and the activities in the kitchen. Interviews have been conducted with household members in the studied cases, as well as with key informants. The main areas of study have been the way food is prepared, cooked and stored in the kitchen, and how these activities take place in a mixed situation of tradition and modernity. People have to negotiate and reinterpret spaces in their kitchens and around them in order to meet their needs. Some of the most important outcomes from this research is not to let modernity be disruptive but rather to allow the change from tradition be gradual. The thesis endeavors to blend the two phenomena of tradition and modernity so as to create a balance in design and end with better functioning kitchens.Master Thesis Effect of sliding windows techniques over a performance of TCP/IP networks(Çankaya Üniversitesi, 2018) Abedi, Abbas Fadhil AbdulabbasThe communication channels have a variety of features in the communication system and networks, particularly wireless channels. It is used in transmissions between two nodes and deals with high error rates. Such errors that occur frequently which are not easy to be avoided, have the greatest effect on the performance of a network. So, it must be concluded that error rates are for different network conditions with use of different types of sliding windows techniques. In this thesis, error correcting techniques have been investigated based on a retransmission technique they used. One of the famous retransmission techniques is sliding windows technique, which it has three sub-algorithms called: stop and wait, selective repeat, and go back N. In this work, selective repeat and go back N algorithms were taken into account, but a stop and wait algorithm was not considered since it doesn't use any window structure in their retransmissions. Also, it always has a high delay amount with less performance compared to the selective repeat and go back N techniques. For this purpose, sliding window techniques have been implemented on Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) network platform which is simulated in MATLAB with all its details. In the simulation, all nodes running over a TCP/IP on MPLS network and nodes randomly send a number of data packets to any random node over the same network, which uses a path determined by the shortest path routing algorithm. Finally, the sliding window techniques have been studied and analyzed for their performances on the MPLS for the different traffic conditions, in terms of delay, throughput and packet loss rates. Indeed, the best sliding window technique was determined and suggested for different traffic types of the MPLS networks.Master Thesis The impact of cloud computing in delivering sustainable business welfare as a part of a green ict strategy in developing countries(Çankaya Üniversitesi, 2018) Salih, Bawar HadiThe research is intended to assess the role of cloud computing in delivering sustainable business welfare in the developing countries, specifically in Iraq.
